Nolan Sagan, Topic: Ames Climate Change Action Plan: An Overview
<p>This presentation will focus on the progress made to date on the City's Climate Action Plan. It will start with a brief overview of the Plan including goals and vision for the future. It will then dive into the details of what is happening in sustainability and climate action in the City right now. The 10-year pollinator plan and its relation to climate action will also be discussed.</p> <p>Nolan Sagan is Sustainability Coordinator, at the Ames City Manager’s Office. Since 2019, Sagan worked as a Sustainability & Asset Specialist with Spire Energy, a natural gas provider to 1.7 million customers in Missouri, Alabama, and Mississippi. Sagan earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from University of Northern Iowa and a master’s degree in environmental geology from University of Kansas. The Sustainability Coordinator now serves as a resource for all departments to ensure work aligns with sustainability goals and strategic direction.</p>
